Water has to have somewhere to go
Central Texas does not rain, it pours. Fall is set before the base goes in, because standing water finds the weakest joint and works underneath the mat until the surface loses its support.

Caliche, granite, and thin soil over rock
Burnet County sits on the edge of the Llano Uplift. The ground moves differently here than it does an hour east, so the base depth gets decided on site, not off a price sheet.

Nobody calls a paver about drainage. Drainage is what they are calling about.
Burnet County sits on the edge of the Llano Uplift. Granite, caliche and thin soil over rock, worked by a climate that swings between months of hard dry and an afternoon that drops three inches. That cycle is what opens a crack, and once water is under the mat it takes the base with it.
So the estimate happens standing on the site. We look at where the water runs now, what the existing base is doing, and how the surface gets used. A number written without that is a guess, and a guess is how a drive ends up needing replacing at year eight instead of holding to twenty.

Sealcoating is a protective layer applied over cured asphalt. It shields the surface from sun, water and chemicals, which slows the oxidation that turns black asphalt grey and brittle. It does not fix a failing base, but on a sound lot or driveway it buys years for a fraction of the cost of resurfacing.

No. Estimates are free and carry no obligation. We come out and look at the ground, because a paving quote written without seeing the drainage and the existing base is a guess.
It depends on the grade, the drainage and how you use it. Asphalt is quicker to install, cheaper up front and more forgiving of ground movement, but it wants sealing every few years. Concrete costs more at the start and lasts longer with less attention. We install both and will tell you honestly which suits your site.
